Permatex® Anaerobic Gasket Maker (51817)

OEM specified. Noncorrosive gasketing material designed primarily for use on aluminum, iron, and steel flanged mating surfaces. Ideal for on-the-spot and emergency repairs, or when a conventional gasket is unavailable. Fills gaps up to .015″ and cures to a solvent-resistant seal that will not tear or decay during service. Parts disassemble easily even after extended service. Old gasket material can be removed in minutes with a simple putty knife.

Applications:

1. Automobile

   Suggested Applications: For use on machined aluminum metal components; transmission pans, transmission case covers, transaxle casings, transfer cases, split crankcases, pumps, and housings.

2. Marine

   Suggested Applications: Crankcase flanges drive unit joints, and with o-ring replacement

Instructions to Us:

• Clean both flange surfaces. Remove paint, dirt, grease, or old gasket completely.

• Spray Permatex® Surface Prep™ activator on one surface only. Allow drying 1-2 minutes.

• Apply a continuous bead of sealant to the unprimed surface.

• Assemble mating surfaces with minimal lateral movement. The excess sealant can be wiped away with a cloth and shop solvent.
